Golden Star Ganesh In A Horror Comedy, Gimmick Trailer Looks Pathetic And Below The Standards

The trailer of Golden Star Ganesh starrer Gimmick dropped today and it seems all over the place.

Ganesh, off late, has been trying his hand at various genres and Gimmick seems to be his foray into Horror Comedy. Horror Comedy isn’t a genre which is explored in Kannada Cinema except for the terrific Shh and the forgetful Puneeth Rajkumar starrer Natasarvabhauma.

The trailer opens with a typical dark-scary-voice-over shot and it swiftly moves into a song sequence where we see Ganesh show off his dancing skills. Then we switch over to the comedy part of the trailer where Ganesh lands a punch which misses. A little bit of story is revealed over the next one minute but clarity is not achieved.

Most part of the trailer is about the bad acting shown by the actors. The effect of the green screen on the acting performance is clearly seen. Few shots seem interesting but the pressure of trying to induce a joke seems to have come on the cinematographer as well. The editing, just by the trailer, is typical to say the best. The dubbing of Mandya Ramesh is pretty bad.

The music by Arjun Janya and the supporting cast of Gurudutt, Mandya Ramesh and Shobraj will play a crucial role in the film’s performance at the box office.
