Earlier this week, the acclaimed director Yograj Bhat took social media to announce that Golden Star Ganesh and Diganth will be a part of the much-awaited sequel to his massive hit Gaalipata.

The announcement of Gaalipata 2 came a few months back where it was informed that a completely new cast will be featured that includes Sharan, Rishi, and Pawan Kumar. Social media was in splits as they were both excited for the film and missed the earlier cast as well. The new members of the cast looked exciting as well but people had apprehensions given that the first film has become a cult.

Success of Galipata

Gaalipata, the first part, released in 2008 which rode high on the success of the previous Yograj Bhat film, Mungaru Male. Gaalipata had fine characters with memorable dialogues and scenes. Yograj Bhat has always been a one-of-a-kind dialogue writer. The film’s music much like Mungaru Male became an instant hit. Golden Star Ganesh became a star with this film.

Ganesh – Diganth – Pawan Kumar in Galipata 2

Life comes full circle it seems. Golden Star Ganesh is all set to be back as a leading man of yet another Gaalipata. In a letter addressed to the audience, Yograj Bhat warmly gave out the news.

As per the letter, Diganth who was famously called “Doodh Pedha” in the first part, is also set to come back to the franchise. The third actor sharing the screen space with Ganesh and Diganth is Pawan Kumar of Lucia and U-turn fame. This also means that Sharan and Rishi who were supposed to be in the film will now no longer be a part of it. According to Yograj Bhat, with Rishi, there were dates issues because of which he had to be replaced. With Sharan, it is said that there will be another film directed by Yograj Bhat which will be going on floors early next year.
