A case has been registered
According to the sources, the police have registered a case against Tiwari under section 286 of the IPC and 30 of the Arms Act.
“A video has been going viral on social media where an incident has been shown in which Manju Tiwari can be seen firing. A case has been registered in this under relevant sections at Kotwali Nagar police station and further investigation is being done,” Additional SP, Arvind Tiwari.
After the incident got a lot of criticism, Manju Tiwari apologized and said that she got carried away by the ‘Deepavali-like’ atmosphere in her city when people lit lamps and burst crackers at 9 p.m. for nine minutes.
“I saw the entire city illuminating with candles & earthen lamps. I felt like it was Diwali & fired in the air out of jubilation. I accept my mistake & apologize for it,” the leader says.
