The makers of the upcoming Kannada movie ‘Vishnu Priya’ have recently released the trailer of the film. Featuring Shreyas K Manju and Priya Prakash Varrier in lead roles, the film promises to be an intense love story.
Bankrolled by K Manju, the film has been directed by VK Prakash. Popular composer Gopi Sundar has scored music for the movie while Vinod Bharati is the DOP.
A love story set in the nineties
At the commencement of the trailer itself, the makers state that the film is based on a love story set in the nineties. Later, as we are served with more visuals from the film, this becomes transparent. There has been an amazing amount of high-grade work that has been planted in to give the retro touch to the film. Be it the styling and costumes of the lead pair or the visuals, even without that announcement at the start, the message would have prevailed comfortably.
Shreyas Manju arrives with his second offering
Son of popular producer K Manju, Shreyas had a good debut with Padde Huli. He showed that he had the skills to stay in the biz. It is also encouraging to see that he has picked up an interesting and relatively daring subject for just his second film.
Shreyas seems to have worked on his looks, and the output on the screen is brilliant. As seen from his first movie, he is good in action sequences, and that shows again in the trailer.
Priya Varrier, the ‘wink’ girl from Kerala plays the female lead. It will mark her debut in Kannada, and in the first film itself, she will play an acting-oriented character that is moderately de-glam.
Neat job by the technical departments
Gopi Sundar is a popular music director, and it is a boost for the makers that they have got him on board. From the work in the trailer, we can be assured of a soothing album. The visuals also look crisp and fresh. Credit must go to Vinod for pulling it off.
