Popular playback singer Sonu Nigam has allegedly reported to have received threats from Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) chief Iqbal Singh Chahal’s cousin Rajinder. But why?

According to a report, Rajinder was keen on wanting the singer to perform at a concert overseas. A source close to the singer has also revealed that Sonu received correspondence from the BMC chief requesting him to perform at a concert abroad via his cousin Rajinder. Sonu, who reportedly works with an international promoter named Rocky, requested that the query should be taken up with him instead.
But this conversation did not go well and Rajinder sent him derogatory and threatening messages. The language used in these messages also came as a shocker to the singer.

The report also alleged that singer Palak Muchhal has been at the receiving end of the threats as well. Sonu Nigam has also been in the headlines as he received the Padma Shri Award in 2022.
Sonu Nigam has been one of the best singers of the Hindi industry and has also sung songs in many other languages as well.
