National award winning actor Sanchari Vijay (38), who sustained critical injuries in a road accident in Bengaluru on Saturay night, breathed his last at Apollo Hospital, Bengaluru on Monday.
The actor had emergency surgery to trunk the internal brain bleed, he was declared brain dead by the doctors treating him on Monday. His brother Siddesh said, “The brain stem has stopped functioning, so we have decided to donate organs. Vijay always believed in serving society, which we are fulfilling by donating his organs.”
According to reports, the actor was riding pillion on bike with a friend when met with a horrible accident. The bike skidded on the wet road and happens to collided with an electric pole. Vijay sustained major trauma to his head and was rushed to a nearby hospital.
Vijay was one of the most sought-after actos of Kannada cinema who rose to fame with ‘Naanu Avanalla Avalu’ which fetched him a best actor National Award. During tough times of Pandemic, the actor was very active with social work and was closely associated with Usire team, providing oxygen for COVID patients. (Source: TOI)
