
The deliveries of Mahindra’s Jawa and Jawa 2 launched under its Classic Legends brand in November 2018 will start from the 4th week of March this year. When the multinational Indian company announced a complete revamp for Jawa vehicles, it created quite a ripple in the segment of the two-wheeler. The company at the time of announcement claimed that they have received excellent responses from its customers.
Mahindra Plans To Sale 7,500 Units Of Jawa Per Month
According to reports, Mahindra is planning to sale around 7,500 units of Jawa every month in its first year. The bookings that were accepted online at the start for Jawa and Jawa 42 and even offline bookings are now closed until September 2019. If you want to book the newly launched vehicle post-September this year, then you can contact your nearest dealer. The company has not disclosed the bookings received until now but has said that the number is really huge.
Ever since people made bookings for Jawa and Jawa 42 they were eager to know the date of delivery. The co-founder of Classic Legends, Anupam Thareja in his tweet announced, “The moment of truth is here for #JawaMotorcycles. We were audacious and planned a 100 showrooms nationwide before starting delivery – that’s being done in record time by March 3rd week. Fourth week onwards, we will start delivery across the country as per the booking queue!”
No Clear Indication About Who Will Be The First
As of now, there is no clear indication about who will be the lucky person to get the two-wheeler first or second or is next in the queue. According to a dealer, whenever a particular motorcycle will be available for delivery, the buyer will receive a call around a week in advance. At that time, the buyer will have to deposit the full amount for claiming the bike.
Features Of Jawa And Jawa 42
Jawa is a classically styled two-wheeler whereas Jawa 42 has a retro look. Both the vehicles come with the power of the 293cc engine, single cylinder, -6-speed manual gearbox, 28 Nm torque mated and liquid cooled engine offering 27 bhp power. Initially, both the Jawa and Jawa 42 will be having a single disc in the front, a single-channel ABS and a drum brake located at the rear. Buyers can also get a Jawa bike with a dual disc and dual ABS but the delivery will be done post-June 2019.
Both the brands from Mahindra have been priced keeping an eye on its rival Royal Enfield. The standard Jawa model with rear drum brake is available at a price of Rs.1.55 lakhs whereas the rear disc brake variant having dual channel ABS is available at a price of Rs.1.64 lakhs. The dual-channel ABS price is around Rs. 1.73 lakhs whereas the Jawa 42 having drum brake will have a price of Rs. 1.64 lakhs. All these are ex-showroom prices.
