Attempting a silly prank, a woman purposefully coughed at food items in a grocery store after which the store had to throw out all the food items costing about 35 thousand dollars. The woman is likely to be arrested.

According to the Facebook post written by Joe Fasula, the co-owner of the supermarket chain, the unnamed woman entered the Gerrity’s supermarket and started to cough on bakery items, meat, and other food items. The staff stationed closely immediately removed the woman from the supermarket and called up the Hanover Township Police.

The Police Chief of Hanover Township, Albert Walker and his team found the woman hours later and took her into custody. While there is no doubt that the woman intentionally contaminated the food, there is no evidence that she was contracted with the coronavirus. The Police are looking to file criminal charges against the woman once she completes her mental health treatment.

Despite no evidence of her being contracted with the virus, Fasula brought in a health inspector to identify the possible infected places in the store and eventually disposed of food items worth of 35 thousand dollars.

Fasula also said,

“While it is always a shame when food is wasted, in these times when so many people are worried about the security of our food supply, it is even more disturbing.”

Spreading the Virus could be charged with Terrorism

On Wednesday, the Department of Justice confirmed that people purposefully trying to spread the virus will be charged with terrorism. A 26-year-old man in Missouri was charged with terrorism after he filmed himself licking a deodorant at a Walmart store.

The Justice Department said that the virus satisfies the criteria of a biological threat and using COVID-19 to harm Americans could constitute a terrorist threat.

On Thursday, the United States reported a total of 81,321 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus with over 1,000 dead and close to 160 million people in the lockdown and with that, it has overtaken China and Italy and is now the epicenter of the COVID-19 in the World. The vaccine for the virus is still in the preliminary stage and would take no less than 12-18 months.
