The news of a pregnant elephant died after being fed with pineapple filled with firecrackers have left citizens enraged and disgusted. The social media was filled with outrage against the distasteful act by humans.
The internet has been condemning the act and has been calling out the barbaric nature of human acts. Prominent cartoonist Satish Acharya shared a cartoon that depicted the barbaric act that has been shared widely by the netizens. The cartoon showed the one last conversation between the unborn calf and the mother elephant.
The Mannarkad Forest Division in Palakkad has filed a First information report post the death of the 15-year-old pregnant elephant. The FIR has been filed against the unidentified individuals. The FIR has been registered under section 9 (prohibition of hunting any wild animal specified in schedules I, II, III, and IV) and section 51 (offense committed in relation to any animal specified in Schedule or Part II of Schedule II).
