Brahmastra Takes A Massive Drop; Nowhere Near KGF2, Baahubali2, and RRR

Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor’s film Brahmastra is doing exceptionally well at the box office for now. It minted more than Rs 150 crore in just five days. But from Monday the film saw significant drops much to the disappointment of the makers.

Brahmastra takes a drop in collections

Ayan Mukerji’s ‘Brahmastra’ was touted as the next big thing in Hindi cinema. Borrowing some elements from Hindu mythology and Marvel Cinematic, the film promised to be a rival to several American movie franchises. Starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles, the film did well last week. Until now, the film’s Hindi version has grossed an impressive Rs 143 crore.

However, the movie dropped on the first weekday i.e. Monday. The film saw considerable drops much to the disappointment of the makers. Brahmastra was made on close to 450Cr budget, the comparison will be always there with big pan India blockbusters like RRR, KGF2, and Baahubali2.

All these three movies collected more than 1000Cr gross and looking at the start it maintained, it appeared Brahmastra might also join this club. However, looking at the drops now, it’s not possible for Brahmastra to come close to these South films.

Brahmastra had collected Rs 16.5 crores on Monday, the film’s collections on Tuesday were less than the previous; meaning the film saw a dip for the second consecutive day. According to sources, ‘Brahmastra’ has collected Rs 14 crores on its fifth day.

Speaking of the film which also features actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, and Mouni Roy, ‘Brahmastra Part One: Shiva’ has collected roughly Rs 240 crore at the worldwide box office collection. Made on a budget of Rs 410 crores, the film, which also has Shah Rukh Khan playing a cameo role, has recovered at least 50% of its cost within four days of its release.
