BJP’s Vishvas Sarang has called for a lifetime ban to Bollywood stars who fail a dope test. Sarang’s comments came in reference to a video of a party held at Karan Johar’s residence last year.
The video under the scanner
In July last year, Karan Johar had hosted a party for the A-listers of the industry at his residence. In attendance were the likes of Deepika, Malaika Arora, Arjun Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor, Mira Rajput Kapoor, Varun Dhawan, Natasha Dalal, Zoya Akhtar, Vicky Kaushal, Ayan Mukerji, and Ranbir Kapoor.
The issue though was a video that emerged out from the party. Recorded by Karan Johar, the video sees the celebrities in an unusual state, although it was not known whether it was intentional or unintentional. Also, a few viewers observed a shade of white on one of the tables while others pointed out that it was just a mere reflection of light.
After the drug angle in Sushant’s case came into the picture, this video came under the scanner again. There are reports that those in the party had consumed drugs that day.
A lifetime ban for the Bollywood celebs
Talking about the matter, Vishvas Sarang said: “There is a law against drugs in this country but we see that many big drug addicts are getting away with it. The video shown by Republic shows that many film celebrities use drugs. The truth should come out and the action should be taken against them. I have said this earlier also that there should be a dope test before the shooting of the film and if anyone is found guilty, there should be a lifetime ban on them.”
NCB is already testing the video after Majinder Sirsa lodged a complaint. Regarding this, Sarang said: “NCB will go to the roots of this and there should be a fair probe.”
