Vijay Deverakonda, who recently marked his Bollywood debut with Puri Jagannadh’s Liger, co-starring Ananya Panday, in a recent interview spoke about the film’s failure.
Vijay on Liger’s failure
Telugu actor Vijay Deverakonda, who recently suffered an injury and went to 8 months of rehab, in a recent interview spoke about the film’s failure and revealed that he “does things that he believes in and doesn’t get affected by how it’s received.”
In an interview with the News18, the Liger actor said, “I don’t know, if I’ve handled things with grace, I just handle them the way I know how it is. It is my reaction to whatever is happening at that point. I just know that I’m very honest with my emotions and feelings. And if that is what I feel at that point, I express it that particular way.”
“And I know that when it is truly what I feel when it is not something I’m saying to get a reaction or to be part of the popular opinion at that point or to get traction when you know that it’s what you feel inside, even if it’s received well or if it’s not received well, because it can go either way once it goes out into the world, it can be perceived in any way,” he adds.
The actor further said, “I just know that when it is something I truly believe in, and I say that, and I will always stand by it. And I will not be affected by how it’s received. So, that’s how I just deal with stuff always.”
Vijay Deverakonda’s Bollywood debut also featured an extended cameo of boxing legend Mike Tyson.
8 months of rehab
The 33-year-old also shared a health update with his fans and followers that he has recovered from an injury he suffered eight months ago. The news came as a shock to many as during Liger’s promotions earlier his year, the Telugu actor never hinted at any sort of injury or pain and heavily promoted the movie co-starring Ananya Panday. Liger did poorly at the box office and has now been streaming on Disney+Hotstar.
Taking to Instagram, Vijay shared a picture along with an update about his health. He wrote, “The back is almost fixed after 8 months of rehab. The beast is dying to come out. He has been kept caged too long now. Go hard and outwork everyone my loves.”
On the work front, Vijay will be next seen in Kushi, a romantic comedy film. It also stars Samantha Ruth Prabhu. It was supposed to hit the big screens this year but has been delayed. Samantha recently revealed her Myositis diagnosis as well.
