Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmann Khurrana will be sharing the screen for the first time in an upcoming film Gulabo Sitabo. On early Friday morning, the first look for Big B’s forthcoming movie was released. After Paa and 102 not out it is his third movie where he has completely changed himself into a different and a unique character, making the 76-year-old the king of transformation.
Gulabo Sitabo First Look
Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh had tweeted the first look, and the picture reveals that Shoojit Sircar directorial will have Bachchan play an old bespectacled Muslim man with a fat nose. The film, which also stars Ayushmann Khurrana in a pivotal role, is slated to release on April 24, 2020.
Sharing Bachchan’s first look, Adarsh tweeted, “Unveiling Amitabh Bachchan’s quirky character look from #GulaboSitabo… Costars Ayushmann Khurrana… Directed by Shoojit Sircar… 24 April 2020 release.”

The film is written by Juhi Chaturvedi, Sircar’s frequent collaborator, who had worked in movies like Vicky Donor, Piku and October fame. Gulabo Sitabo is said to be produced by Ronnie Lahiri and Sheel Kumar. Talking about the family comedy which set in Lucknow, Sircar earlier said, “After Piku and Vicky Donor, I had been wanting to work with Mr. Bachchan and Ayushmann on an equally quirky script so this fell perfectly in place.”
Ayushmann calls it a great opportunity
Ayushmann will be joining the team right after he finishes working on his other upcoming project titled Bala. In an interview with the star he was asked if he was excited or nervous to work with Big B for the first time, Ayushmann in reply said, “Both, it’s like mixed feelings. I have butterflies in my stomach. I don’t know how will I feel when I face Mr. Bachchan for the first time on screen together. And I am excited as Shoojit Sircar and Juhi Chaturvedi (screenwriter) are coming together with him after Piku. It is a dream team.”
It was on Tuesday, June 17 that Amitabh Bachchan on Twitter reveals that he has begun shooting for Gulabo Sitabo. “One done another begun. Travel, location change, look change, crew change, colleagues change, city change and story change. From Lucknow today Gulabo Sitabo and the look? Well, what can I say?” he tweeted.
