Ajay Devgn-Kiccha Sudeep engaged in a war of words over Twitter, which soon slowed after misunderstandings were cleared. However, several other celebrities have caught on to the controversy and are sharing their take on the same. The latest Bollywood celebrity to jump into the debate is actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
Use of English in Bollywood
Criticizing the use of English in Bollywood, Nawazuddin said in a video shared, “Firstly, I would change the name of the industry (Bollywood) to the Hindi Film industry. Second, the script that we get is in Roman (laughs). It is difficult to remember hence I ask for the script in Devnagri. And thirdly, the entire team around, the director, assistants and all speak in English even when they are making a movie in Hindi.”
Talking about the difficulties he faced due to this communication gap, Nawaz said, “On one side there is a director and writer who is explaining the movie scene in English. On the other side, there is a good actor who doesn’t understand English and tries to find out what the hell is happening. He is just looking here and there as the filmmakers try to explain to him about the character,” he complains.

A different scenario in South
Praising the South film industry, the actor further added, “One good thing about the South is that they speak in Tamil proudly, if you are in Karnataka, they speak in Kannada. Writers and script narrators all speak in the local language. This doesn’t happen in the Hindi film industry”
The actor speaking about the South Movies’ success, believes that it is just a phase, and the perception that South Indian films have scared Bollywood with their success will disappear as soon as a Hindi film becomes a massive hit. However, he admitted that Bollywood has made a mistake by remaking South Indian films, which won’t be possible anymore with South Indian filmmakers releasing their work in the Hindi market.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui is playing an important role in the movie Heropanti 2 alongside Tiger Shroff and Tara Sutaria. Directed by Ahmed Khan, the modern cybercrime story, stylized action, and a great cinematic experience with A R Rahman’s music make it worth watching on the big screen only.
