The trailer of Ajay Devgn’s much-awaited Hindi movie Bholaa is released and the film is a remake of the 2019 hit Tamil film Kaithi. In an interview, the lead actor and director Ajay Devgn shared some details about his film being different from Lokesh Kanagaraj’s movie.
‘Bholaa’ is a remake of Kaithi
After a couple of teasers and songs, the trailer of Ajay Devgn’s directorial ‘Bholaa’ is finally released. Along with the direction, Ajay played the protagonist in the movie as well. This film is an official Hindi remake of the Tamil hit ‘Kaithi’. It has been styled as the story of a “one-man army, set in one night, fighting a group of enemies in various forms, human and otherwise.”
The original film Kaithi, which Lokesh Kanagaraj directed, revolved around an ex-convict, who determines to meet his daughter for the first time after being released from prison but gets hooked up in a face-off between police and the drug mafia.
The trailer reveals quite a lot about how screenwriters Sandeep Kewlani and Aamil Keyan Khan have altered Lokesh’s story. Ajay in an interview has also explained why his film is a bit different from the Tamil flick.
Talks with Lokesh Kanagaraj
In a press conference, Ajay Devgn was asked if he met Lokesh Kanagaraj and spoke to him about any changes in the Hindi film or any future plans, for this the actor said, “No, I did not meet him personally. But through people, we were in touch to add a few changes to the Hindi film. And Yes we discussed a few films for the future also.” This means Ajay Devgn is positive to make a few more remakes from Lokesh Kanagaraj Universe.
Why Bolaa is different from Kaithi?
“When you see the film you will realize there are a lot of changes. The characters are changed completely. Only the idea is similar to Kaithi but the whole treatment, the world, and the emotions are totally different. So, whatever I felt should be different, I have made those changes, says Ajay to another reporter.
