Ahead of the Bihar polls and amid the growing differences between LJP and RJD, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has come out and appreciated Nitish Kumar for his good governance.
PM Modi lauds Nitish Kumar
Modiji said: “Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has a very important role to play in taking Bihar forward on the path to progress. We must ensure sushasan [good governance] in Bihar. The good work done in the last 15 years must continue.“
He further added: “In the last 15 years, Bihar has shown that development happens with the right government, decisions, and policies, and also reaches everyone. Infrastructure has improved. New medical and engineering colleges, law institutes, and polytechnics have come up. We are working for the growth of all sectors in Bihar.”
Modiji takes a dig at Lalu
Not taking any names, PM Modi commented on the previous governance and its backward mindset. He said: “Bihar has for long been plagued by a peculiar mindset. Road projects were frowned upon and people used to ask what do these have to offer those who walk on foot and do not have a vehicle.“
Mr. Modi also spoke about return of immigrants to the state. Regarding the topic, he said that while it did offer a few challenges, the fact that it generated employment is a positive side to look at.
Meanwhile, Modiji’s comments have come at the right time when the alliance between NDA’s allies LJP and Nitish Kumar’s RJD is traveling on a rough patch.
