Maybe it’s true that whatever happens, happens for a reason. Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicidal death has left the Bollywood industry in a shell shock and in a dilemma about life and death. Moreover, his death has given a voice to many actors and directors to make a noise about all the nasty tricks, politics, bullying, trolling, and nepotism puppets in the Bollywood industry. From Kangana Ranaut to Abhay Deol, they have a lot in common to bring it on to the table.
Recently, Abhay Deol has expressed his own experience in the Bollywood industry, considering the fact that he has also been a victim of nepotism. He expressed his personal grief over the dirty politics in the Bollywood industry.
He with his co-stars, Farhan Akhtar and Hritik Roshan, acted in one of the most loved movies of 2011, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. It was a story about 3 friends who plan a road trip in the midst of their messed up personal life. Abhay, Farhan, and Hritik were seen playing equal roles in this movie, however, Abhay expressed his grief over the fact that only Hritik and Katrina were nominated in the category of leading actors during the award show.
He wrote: “Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara”, released in 2011. Need to chant this title to myself everyday nowadays! Also a great watch when anxious or stressed. I would like to mention that almost all the award functions demoted me and Farhan from main leads, and nominated us as “supporting actors”. Hrithik and Katrina were nominated as “actors in a leading role”. So by the industry’s own logic, this was a film about a man and a woman falling in love, with the man supported by his friends for whatever decisions he takes. There are many covert and overt ways in which people in the industry lobby against you. In this case, it was shamelessly overt. I of course boycotted the awards but Farhan was ok with it. #familyfareawards Very creative artwork @kalakkii
