Prabhas starrer Adipurush had all the right buzz when the announcement was made and initial posters were revealed. Sadly, it all went in vain when the teaser turned out to be an utter disaster. Director Om Raut faced massive criticism from all over for poor VFX work. Now, the latest we hear is about the hike in the budget for Adipurush.
Adipurush VFX work
Recently, the makers officially announced the new release date of the magnum opus. The film is now releasing on 16th June 2023 and considering the long gap remaining, there’s a scope for improvement after all the negativity for VFX and CGI work. As shared by Om Raut himself, they’ll be using this time to bring out the visually appealing film.
Sharing it on Twitter, Adipurush maker Om Raut said that “in order to give a complete visual experience to the viewers, we need to give more time to the teams working on the film”. Now, as per the report in TrackTollywood.com, it is learned that more than 100 crores will be spent on VFX patchwork, which is really a huge cost.
To be noted, Prabhas and Said Ali Khan starrer already carry a reported budget of 450-500 crores and such a huge hike has made it one of the most expensive Indian films ever. Let’s hope that Om Raut and the team reach the best possible result after reworking the film.
Twitter Reactions
Reacting to the tweet, one user wrote, “#Adipursh Its better for Indian movie makers to think twice before they make heavy VFX movies unless they want to do it 100% perfect. We have seen what Netflix did to Saaho and this will happen for every other movie. Live action will be perfect for our emotional connect.”
A second user reacted, “100 crores? WTF? Now I’m not trying to say that, we can give money to charity (Ofcourse we can do that too) But, We can use that to do 10 movies for 10 CR, 20 for 5 CR Entire 2,3 Webseries can be made! Its better to release it as it is and get the amount they invested before.”
A third user Tweeted, “Hold on, so they said the budget of this movie is 500 cr. The only stars are Prabhas, Saif, and Kriti (maybe 125cr for them all). VFX only costs 100 cr. The whole movie was shot against a green screen. Someone pls explain to me how the budget is 500 cr again?!?!?!?!? #Adipurush”.
