Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor has passed away in Mumbai’s HN Reliance Foundation Hospital. The actor had reportedly developed breathing problems yesterday after which he was hospitalized. Bollywood suffers second death in a row after Irrfan Khan passed away on the 29th of April.
Amitabh Bachchan was the first to break the news on Twitter where he put out a tweet announcing Kapoor’s death and expressed his grief. Bachchan also wrote he is devastated.

I am destroyed !— Amitabh Bachchan (@SrBachchan) April 30, 2020
The actor had returned to India in late September after undergoing treatment for cancer in the United States for a year. In the month of February, last year, alone, Kapoor was admitted twice to the Hospital which was reportedly due to infection. Kapoor was admitted to the hospital after his return to Mumbai too.
The actor had announced his next project which was the remake of the Hollywood film The Intern where he was supposed to star alongside Deepika Padukone. The death comes at a time when the country is mourning the loss of another actor, Irrfan.
This is how Twitter mourned the loss.

Since film shoots are not possible on earth due to COVID19, god has decided to shoot his film in heaven. Of course, he needs to cast the best from Bollywood. Our loss, his gain!

Saddened to hear that my senior schoolmate at Mumbai's CampionSchool, Rishi Kapoor, whom i competed with in "inter-class dramatics" in 1967-68, has gone to a better world. From the romantic hero of "Bobby"to the mature character actor of his last films, he evolved remarkably. RIP pic.twitter.com/9eyzE0qP38
