We all know about IAF pilot Wing Commander Abhinandan Narthan being in Pakistan’s custody and the incident which happened yesterday. In this context, India was praying for the safe return of Abhinandan Narthan. Also, the Pakistan Army had rescued the Commander from the mob and a few soldiers.
Now, In an attempt to de-escalate the rising tension between India and Pakistan, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan told the Pakistan National Assembly on Thursday that Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman, who is currently in the custody of Pakistani Army officials, will return to India on Friday.
“As a peace gesture, I announce that tomorrow (Friday), and as a first step to open negotiations, Pakistan will be releasing the Indian Air Force officer in our custody,” Imran Khan told the Assembly.
As per the reports, Imran Khan will be calling Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday.

Strongly Worded Demarche to Pakistan
Abhinandan Narthan is in Pakistan’s Custody since Yesterday. In context to videos that showed Commander being beaten up by a mob, India on Wednesday had sent a strongly worded Demarche to Pakistan. It condemned the ‘Vulgar display’ of the injured pilot and demanded his immediate and safe return.
Pakistan Prime Minister told the Assembly that our efforts to de-escalate should not be considered as our weakness. He further said, “I address the Indian government, do not force us for retaliation. We are prepared for any eventuality and response. I beseech India not to force us down the path of war.”

"As a Gesture of Peace" Imran Khan should also hand over Masood Azhar and Hafiz Saeed. That will be called Peace Gesture.#WelcomeBackAbhinandan

Lets be clear releasing Wing Commander Abhinandan is an obligation as per Geneva Convetion
The peace gesture from Pakistan would be when they hand over Hafeez Saeed, Mazood Azhar. Till then its status quo!#AbhinandanMyHero #WelcomeBackAbhinandan— Avinash (@avinash_b01) February 28, 2019
First of all it is not a peace gesture from Pakistan it's because of the Geneva convention that they had to release him safely.
BTW thanks PAK for releasing him safe!
Proud of you Indian govt and forces for mounting pressure on Pakistan.#WelcomeBackAbhinandan #AbhinandanMyHero— Prity Singh (@pritsi2101) February 28, 2019
Not as peace gesture, as per geneva convention you had to release him safe and sound! Thanks for releasing him safe!
Proud of Indian govt and forces for mounting aggressive diplomatic pressure to bring back Abhinandan. Proud! #WelcomeBackAbhinandan #AbhinandanMyHero— Shrushti. ☆ (@shrushtispeaks) February 28, 2019
While India will #WelcomeBackAbhinandan let us not be convinced by the "lobby" that this is a "peace gesture" by Pakistan! Clearly they were under pressure & right use of Air Force, diplomatic pressure has caused Pak to buckle! Will opposition compliment @narendramodi govt ?

Huge strategic victory for India under @PMOIndia.@narendramodi. Remember there are no free lunches in diplomacy. A strong India has created conditions for #Pakistan 2 release #Abhinandan . #WelcomeBackAbhinandan
