A controversy has erupted in Jamshedpur after a teacher asked students to memorize the national anthems of Pakistan and Bangladesh. Following this, the private school has launched a probe into the matter alleging that she has an ‘anti-national’ mindset.
The matter came to light after several parents came forward and objected to the teacher’s task who allegedly shared the youtube links of the national anthems on the Whatsapp group of the Kindergarten students. This happened during the online classes which were being held due to the COVID-19 outbreak. The parents took offense to the matter and brought it in front of the school administration.

The administration has constituted a two-member committee to conduct the probe and has asked to submit a report in 24 hours. Following this, the BJP spokesperson Kunal Sarangi brought the matter into the social media platform Twitter. The administration canceled the task given by the teacher followed by the protest. The District Education officer Shivendra Kumar said,
“Deputy Commissioner Ravi Shankar Shukla has directed a probe into the matter which will be conducted by a two-member team led by Regional Education Officer Keshav Prasad.”
BJP Criticises
The BJP’s state unit general secretary, Aditya Sahu said,
“The future of the children is dark and unsecured in such private schools, which ask children to learn Pakistan and Bangladesh anthems for homework. A child’s mind is very delicate and it develops according to the culture inculcated into the child. Such homework reflects the anti-national mindset.”
