Pathaan director Siddharth Anand explains why Physics is important in an action film. Nevertheless, Anupama Chopra has all the right reasons to troll her. Find out what really happened.
The Siddharth Anand interview
Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer Pathaan, directed by Siddharth Anand, is doing great business at the box office and is getting numerous reactions from the movie industry and the viewers in general. Also, Pathaan is on its way to becoming the highest-grossing Hindi film and it is to be seen whether it is able to level up Baahubali 2’s Hindi version or not. Siddharth Anand, in an exclusive interview with Film Companion, talked in length about his recent release.
While speaking with Anupama Chopra, Siddharth explains how action movies became a ‘thing’ in Bollywood Industry. He says, “I am trying to make an action genre in Bollywood. We never really made action films, the south made action films more. Now we have started to do this. I have already made 3 (Bang Bang, War, Pathaan). And every time I have tried to give the audience a little bit of experience (real life). When you experience my film in the theater you see heightened reality but not disbelief.”
Importance of PhysicsÂ
“It’s important to stay true to Physics. Very important, this Physics is,” said Siddharth and this is where Anupama cuts him mid-way and sarcastically asks, “But How Siddharth? (Pointing to his film Pathaan’s silly stunts). They all are running on trains and hanging from a plane, how come this is possible?”. Soon the audience responded with a burst of laughter.
“Look there are a few aspects that are a bit Heightened. You have to tolerate that much. When you watch Fast and the Furious people applaud and when it comes to our Indian films we take things too seriously,” Siddharth defends himself adding audience should come to theaters and enjoy the movie and Forget about the logic.
