South actors have been making a lot of headlines recently for their brilliant performances on screen. While the whole country appreciates these actors down south, Rashmika Mandana is being trolled left and right for her recent indirect comments which have triggered an ugly controversy.
The Rashmika controversy
Rashmika Mandanna, one of the top actresses in the South film industry, is making her mark in Bollywood as well. However, the actor is often trolled on the internet. And most of it is from Karnataka, her home state and the place she debuted from.
The Pushpa 2 actress gained popularity from her first appearance opposite her ex-fiancé and actor Rakshit Shetty. In a recent interview with Curly Tales, she was talking about her initial experience of becoming an actor and how she got the opportunity. The actress refused to take the name of the production house Paramvah Studios (Kannada Production House through which she made her debut) as she said, I got a call from “this production house apparently”. This has left her Karnataka fans furious as she is allegedly disrespecting her roots.
Not just fans, Kantara actor Risbhah Shetty was quite irked with the actress’ comments. In one of his recent interviews with Gulte, Rishab openly rejected to work with Rashmika in the future. He was asked about which actress he would like to work with Rashmika, Samantha, Keerthy Suresh, and Sai Pallavi. He said, “Samantha Ji and Sai Pallavi Ji are really great actors and don’t like this type of actor.”
Viral Video
In support of Risbhah Shetty, many of his fans have now dug out an old video of Rashmika Mandana where she is heard talking about being more comfortable with Telugu, Tamil and Hindi Films.
In a viral video, she says, “I am comfortable with Telugu and comfortable even doing Tamil Films. Now I am going to Hindi and checking out the new market. So it’s always like I want to extend my capacity and I want to see what more can I do. For example, Tomorrow, I may do English films and still be comfortable. I don’t wanna stay in one particular zone.”
“I really loved working in Pushpa. This (Telugu Industry) has become like a home ground. I love working hard here,” adds Rashmika.
