Brahmastra is touted to be the costliest Bollywood film ever made. The film is just days away from its theatrical release and the pre-release buzz is highly promising. But it seems like Amitabh Bachchan, who also features in Ayan Mukerji’s film, is a bit worried that the fantasy drama would be a failure.
Brahmastra’s Box Office Failure
Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are leading the first part of the Brahmastra franchise. Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, and Mouni Roy among others will be seen in key roles. Shah Rukh Khan will be seen in a cameo role and it is expected that the next installment will also have Deepika Padukone, making it more exciting. Moreover, the advance booking reports indicate that the film may create many Box Office records.
However, just a few days before its release, it has been revealed that Big B was ‘very upset’ with Ayan Mukerji (director) while they were shooting.
According to a media report, the megastar was reportedly upset with Ayan’s delayed schedules and reshoots. The source also stated that Big B told Karan Johar that if this continues, ‘Brahmastra’ will be a ‘disaster’.
“Amitabh Bachchan who is a very disciplined actor was not pleased with Ayan Mukerji’s delayed schedules and reshoots. At one point in time, Big B was tired of the director and had to speak to the producer of the film Karan Johar. He claimed that Ayan was wasting his time and he (KJo) should stop investing money in the film. And the kind of speed Ayan is going at the film, this will be a disaster,” sources claimed.
Very hopeful with Brahmastra
The source later added that now Amitabh Bachchan is ‘very hopeful that the film will work well at the box office after he met KJo.
“At one point in time, after discussions with producer Karan Johar, Big B felt positive that he was investing more of his time in the right project and that KJo is doing the right thing by pumping more money into the film and that Ayan need to shoot at his own speed”, reported Bollywoodlife.
Brahmāstra has been in the making for almost a decade now. Ayan had earlier revealed that he came up with the idea of the film while he was still working on ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’. Reportedly, the film’s shoot started five years ago.
The film will release theatrically on September 9, 2022, in five Indian languages – Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. The budget of the film is assumed to be over Rs 400 crore.
