Mahesh Babu had recently said that he doesn’t want to do Hindi films and that Bollywood couldn’t afford him. Now, film producer Mukesh Bhatt has reacted to the same and said ‘it’s very good’ that Bollywood can’t afford his price.
Mukesh Bhatt’s statement
Actor Mahesh Babu stirred up a controversy after he said that Bollywood couldn’t ‘afford’ him. Also, he had said that he did get a lot of Hindi film offers, but he really couldn’t waste his time.
At the trailer launch event of Sarkaru Vaari Paata, Mahesh Babu said, “I may come across as arrogant, but I have received numerous offers in Hindi. However, I believe they cannot afford me. I don’t want to squander any of my time or others. I never considered leaving Telugu cinema or going to other places, because of the fame and love I have here.”
Producer Mukesh Bhatt responded to the statements and said that there was nothing wrong with what Mahesh said.
In an interaction with the media, Mukesh stated, “If Bollywood can’t afford his price, then very good. I wish him all the best. I respect where he comes from. He has talent and he has an ‘X’ value for the talent that he has generated over the years.”
He further added, “He is a very successful actor and keeping to his requisite of what he wants to get in terms of gratification of our films, if Bollywood cannot work to his expectations, then there is nothing wrong with it. I wish him all the best. Each one to its own.”
Statement clarification
Meanwhile, the south superstar has come out with a clarification over the statement as well. Mahesh Babu’s team issued a press note about his recent comment on Bollywood.
“Mahesh has clarified that he loves cinema and respects all languages. He said he is comfortable doing the film where he has been working. Mahesh said he is happy to see his dream coming true as Telugu cinema is going places,” the press note reads.
Apart from Sarkaru Vaari Paata, Mahesh Baby also has SSMB 29, where he will be working with SS Rajamouli.
