“Nothing Happening To Bollywood” : Ajay Devgn Speaks About Bollywood Being Threatened By South Films

Ajay Devgn, busy promoting his next Runway 34, was asked whether Bollywood is feeling threatened by South movies. The actor however denies such thing troubling the B town celebrities.

Bollywood threatened by the South films

After the release of some pan India films recently – like KGF Chapter2, RRR, Pushpa, and more, there has been a huge buzz on social media regarding South films beating Bollywood films. In fact, some feel that Bollywood is threatened by the South Indian films that are currently earning great numbers at the pan India box office.

While interacting with the media, Ajay Devgn got genuine about whether Bollywood is feeling threatened by South movies. The Runway 34 actor said, “The same thing was said about Hollywood some time ago, but nothing happened.”

“These things will always be spoken about, but there’s no question that Bollywood will continue doing well. More importantly, it’s necessary to stop seeing our films from different regions like the North or South or some other place and just see them as movies from India,” he said.

Larger-than-life hero

 

Ajay Devgn was earlier asked if larger-than-life characters are the secrets behind the huge success of movies such as KGF Chapter 2, RRR, and Pushpa. To this, the Runway 34 actor said, “Even Bollywood filmmakers use that approach. The common man always connects more with a character that has similar, humble origins as him, but he behaves in a larger-than-life manner. That creates a strong connection with the audience,” Ajay said.

The 53-year-old is all set to entertain his audience with his upcoming movie Runway 34. The film also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Rakul Preet Singh, Angira Dhar, Boman Irani, and Aakanksha Singh, and is all set to release next Friday, April 29. The thriller will be clashing at the box office with Tiger Shroff’s Heropanti 2.
