Indore The Cleanest City, Chattisgarh The Cleanest State, Swachh Survekshan Survey 2021

Each year, the government of India conducts a cleanliness survey in the name of Swachh Survekshan 2021 by the ministry of urban affairs and is annually unveiled by the president of the county. On Saturday the results were declared and as usual Indore tops the list of cleanest city in India for the 5th consecutive time. Chattisgarh is nominated as the cleanest state. Post the declaration, President Shri Ramnath Kovind congratulated the toppers and appreciated the Madhya Pradesh Government and Indone local administration for sustaining the cleanliness for such a longer period of time.

Indore Declared As The Cleanest City

Indore has once again bagged the award for being India’s cleanest city as President Ram Nath Kovind on Saturday announced the ‘Swachh Survekshan 2021’ awards. This is the fifth time in a row the city in Madhya Pradesh has won the award in the sixth edition of the event.

Surat in Gujarat, which grabbed the second spot in the cleanest cities’ list last year, has retained its position this year as well. Meanwhile, Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh has bagged the third position in the list. In 2020, Navi Mumbai in Maharashtra was adjudged as the third cleanest city in India.

Chhattisgarh has been awarded cleanest state in the annual cleanliness survey while Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh has won the cleanest Ganga town in the Swachh Survekshan 2021’ awards. Taking to Twitter, Union housing and urban affairs minister Hardeep Singh Puri congratulated Indore and its “people, political leadership and municipal corporation,” among others.

 

Chhattisgarh bags the cleanest state award

In the category of cantonment boards, Ahmedabad was ranked the cleanest city, followed by Meerut and Delhi. Surat has bagged the first award in the district ranking category while Indore and New Delhi have secured second and third position, respectively.

New Delhi And Noida Tops The List Of Small And Medium Cities

 New Delhi Municipal Council secured the first position in the country”s cleanest small city category of 1-3 lakh population while Hoshangawad and Triputi emerged as the “Fastest Mover small city” and “Best Small City in Citizens’ Feedback” categories, respectively.

Noida emerged as the country’s “cleanest medium city” in the category of 3-10 lakh population. Navi Mumbai bagged the first award in the category of ‘Safaimitra Suraksha Challenge’. It also got the first position as India’s ‘cleanest big city’ in the category of 10-40 lakh population.
