Kannadigas recently celebrated their Karnataka Rajyotsava and CM Bommai delivered several propositions on uplifting the state and people of Karnataka in all aspects. CM Basavaraj Bommai on Monday said his government will work towards ensuring that Kannadigas get jobs in private, government and semi-government sectors on priority.
Kannadigas Will Be Given Priority In Government Jobs
Delivering an address at the 66th Karnataka Rajyotsava here, the CM said the government was according importance to get 75% of jobs in skilled and semi-skilled sectors for Kannadigas through effective implementation of the industrial policy. Calling Kannada a unifying factor, he said the state’s language should be adopted in all walks of life — right from primary education till administration —to help Karnataka prosper in all sectors.
He nadigas sought in cooperation this endeavor of . “ all Kanna Kan- – da resists cultural, administrative and historical attacks because of its intrinsic strengths,” he added. He referred to his government’s decision to christen Mumbai Karnataka ‘Kittur Karnataka’ and said the decision will be ratified in the upcoming session of the legislature. The CM said upgrading of 180 Industrial Training Institutes taken up by BS Yediyurappa will be completed this month and they will open to students soon.
Sudden Death Of Puneeth Rajkumar Muted Celebrations
The Rajyotsava celebrations were muted with just 150 people in attendance due to Covid restrictions and the sudden death of Kannada film star Puneeth Rajkumar. The celebrations began with the rendering of the national anthem and were followed by flag hoisting and singing of the state anthem and raitha geethe. A minute’s silence was observed for Puneeth.
Primary and secondary education minister BC Nagesh said, “Buy and read Kannada newspapers, watch and promote Kannada-language plays, films, Yakshagana and other folk arts. More than one crore children are studying in state-run colleges. I appeal to teachers and parents to inculcate a sense of love and pride in students about the state and the language.” This was Karnataka’s 66th anniversary as an Independent state
