It’s a no doubt why Lasith Malinga is regarded as one of the greatest bowlers of the century. His unorthodox action and perfect yorker length bowling with perfect pace makes him stand apart from other bowlers. He belongs to that Sri Lankan team which indeed was one of the best teams that the country had and Malinga being their prime weapon to intimidate the opposition. The day has come when this lion departs from his cricket career and will hopefully surface with new positions.
Yorker King Ends His Spell
The 38-year-old legend was the captain of Sri Lanka’s 2014 T20 World Cup winning team. He posted a message on his social media account announcing his decision.
“Hanging up my T20 shoes and retiring from all forms of cricket! Thankful to all those who supported me in my journey, and looking forward to sharing my experience with young cricketers in the years to come,” said Malinga. “I want to give 100 per cent rest to my T20 bowling shoes. While my shoes will rest, my love for the game will never ask for rest.
As soon as this news came out, fans and stars remembered some of his finest knocks and contribution to world cricket. In Fact Malinga was the star bowler for Mumbai Indians in IPL and had secured them crucial wins in the league.

Lasith Malinga has retired. He is one of the greatest white ball cricketers, the best yorker bowler in history & one of the game's most iconic players. Malinga's unique round-arm action gave him an advantage with bowling yorkers. This is an extract from Cricket 2.0. pic.twitter.com/o01PrEcS8t

Remember watching this live. SA required just 4 runs from 32 with 5 wickets in hand.
Malinga single handedly turned the match into a crazy thriller. Incredible to think that he did 4 in 4 once again in International Cricket.
Go well, Mali ! https://t.co/hEen6Ahv8c
