A village in Punjab’s Bhatinda has passed a diktat telling everyone to send at least one family member to farmers’ protest or face Rs 1,500 fine.

This comes after Swaraj India Chief Yogendra Yadav on Friday urged all farmers across India to send one member of their family at Delhi borders to participate in the protest.

He further said that ‘four drops’ of Rakesh Tikait’s tears washed the bad name that was given to the farmers.

“Modi ji and Yogi ji and all others must listen carefully, farmers will not go back from this movement humiliated and defamed,” said Yadav.

Meanwhile, heavy security deployment continues at Singhu on Delhi-Haryana border where farmers’ are holding a protest against three agriculture laws.

The farmers’ protest over the three farm laws entered the 66th day on Saturday.

Farmer unions observe Sadbhavna Diwas

The farmer unions observed ‘Sadbhavna Diwas’ on Mahatma Gandhi’s death anniversary today and are holding a day-long fast.

Addressing a press conference at Delhi’s Singhu border, the leaders slammed the ruling BJP at the Centre and accused it of trying to “destroy” the “peaceful” agitation against the agriculture laws.

“The conspiracy of the ruling BJP to destroy this farmers’ movement is now exposed to all,” PTI quoted Jagjit Singh Dallewal of Bharat Kisan Union (Sidhupur) as saying.

Ghaziabad administration had given an ultimatum to the agitating farmers to vacate the UP Gate protest site in Ghazipur by Thursday night. However, BKU’s Rakesh Tikait remained adamant saying he would commit suicide but not end the stir.
