After a forced recess, Sandalwood made its entrance to the theatres through Mansore’s ACT 1978 in December last year. The audience was receptive to the idea, and tactically, producers are now entering the fray to deliver their films in theatres.
Sandalwood has many pending films, and all of them are likely to meet viewers at the cinemas in the first half of 2021. It would be a feast for the film fanatics, who have been starved of the cinematic feel for far too long. On that note, here is your Sandalwood calendar comprising biggies that will hit the screens within the first six months of this year.
Ramarjuna – January 29
When one of the faces of Sandalwood’s new-age revolution Rakshit Shetty appreciates a commercial film and even comes forward to present it, there has got to be stuff in the movie. Directed by Anissh and starring himself, Ramarjuna will be the first in the long queue that is set to follow.
Inspector Vikram – February 5
Prajwal Devraj recently announced that his film Inspector Vikram would arrive on the big screen in the first week of February. The movie has elements to woo the audience, and a good response to this film will be a positive sign for Sandalwood.
Pogaru – February 19
Dhruva Sarja’s long-pending film Pogaru will finally make its way to the cinema halls. A commercial film, Pogaru is directed by Nanda Kishore. The film’s album has a few hit songs, and that could attract viewers to the theatres. Not to mention, Dhruva has a loyal fanbase himself.
Roberrt – March 11
It was supposed to release in April last year, but almost a year later, it is Roberrt that will be the first real biggie to enter cinemas. No introduction needs to be given to Darshan’s fanbase and they will now also be held responsible to provide a boost to Sandalwood’s box-office.
Yuvarathnaa – April 1
Raajakumara combo has reunited for the film Yuvarathnaa. Hombale Films is bankrolling this product which has already impressed fans with two songs. Just like Roberrt, Yuvarathnaa is also expected to shake the box-office.
Salaga – April 15
Directed by Duniya Vijay himself, Salaga is likely to be a good outing for the fans of the action genre. There is also the rustic element associated with Vijay’s films, that could prove to be one of the USP’s for this flick.
Kotigobba 3 – April 29
Sudeep’s K3 could release on April 29. The film is short on promotions at the moment, but that is likely to pick up as the pages of the calendar make a move. There are huge expectations surrounding this film as well.
Bhajarangi 2 – May 14
The sequel to the highly successful film, A Harsha and Shivanna will look to repeat the success of the first part. The teaser looks good on production values and also seem to have aspects that can impress the fans of the ‘Tagaru’ actor.
