Social media does offer anyone and everyone to express his or her views but often people fail to draw the line between what’s right and wrong. Some people even pass lewd comments on the internet thinking no one can do them any harm. Such was the case with a supposed cricket fan who gave rape threats to Ziva, the daughter of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni.
Dhoni has had his troubles this season in the IPL where he has found scoring runs tougher. While fans and experts have often spoken about his form with the bat and captaincy, discussing where things might be going wrong for the 39-year-old but some people seem to be crossing the line.
Seeing such obnoxious comments being made towards a child, former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan took to Twitter to slam the mentality of such people, saying nothing gives them the right to make such threatening comments towards a child.
“All the players giving their best, sometimes it just doesn’t work but it’s doesn’t give anyone any authority to give a threat to a young child #mentality #respect”, he tweeted.

As Pathan explained sometimes players do struggle to perform despite giving their best, that doesn’t give anyone the right to be disrespectful, a person tweeted saying India isn’t going in the right direction. Pathan also gave a solid reply to the person saying it’s not India but people who are to blame.

In the match, Dhoni failed to guide his team to victory despite coming in to bat at No. 4 position. The veteran wicket-keeper batsman scored only 11 runs from 12 balls when he departed in the 17th over.
CSK required 39 runs from 21 balls to win the match but the likes of Kedar Jadhav, Ravindra Jadeja couldn’t quite score runs at the required rate. In the end, the Super Kings fell short by 11 runs.
Even though fans have the right to express their opinion of players or results on social media, nothing gives them the right to make such disrespectful comments, especially towards a child.
