Payal Ghosh thanked Kangana Ranaut for her support in the ongoing #MeToo row involving Anurag Kashyap. Yesterday, 30-year-old Payal had accused Anurag of sexual harassment.
Payal accuses Anurag of sexual misconduct
Speaking to ABN Telugu, Payal Ghosh recounted her horrific experience with the filmmaker. She revealed that Anurag had once tried to force himself upon her and had even justified his act by saying that it was normal in the industry.
A few hours later, the actress took to her social media account and levied the allegations again. She even tagged PM Narendra Modi in her tweet and requested his support in the matter. NCW took note of Payal’s tweet and recommended her to register a complaint soon. The actress has confirmed that she would be lodging a complaint through e-mail very soon.
However, Anurag has vehemently denied the allegations made by the actress. He even criticized her for taking the name of some actresses while accusing him of the offense.
Kangana backs Payal in the row
Immediately after Payal put out her post, Kangana re-quoted the tweet and called out for the arrest of the filmmaker. Today, she posted a series of tweets and supported Payal further.
She said that Anurag is very much capable of doing what Payal is alleging and also opined that Bollywood is full of sexual predators. She even revealed that early in her career, a few big heroes misbehaved with her as well.
Following Kangana’s post, Payal thanked her for the support. She said that it was high time that she got support from a person like her. Payal also promised that she and Kangana would together bring the crusaders down. On the other hand, Tapsee Pannu announced her support for Anurag, and called him the ‘biggest feminist’. This move though, as received plenty of criticism on social media.
