Sushant Singh Rajput case has now been divided into two halves. There remains a side that blames Rhea Chakraborty for the actor’s demise. On the other hand, actors like Shibani Dandekar, Shatrughan Sinha amongst others are demanding a fair trial. Amongst the firsts to support Rhea was actress Swara Bhasker.

The Flesh actress received a lot of backlashes when she first posted in support of Rhea. All the fans and well-wishers of Sushant stormed her social media with trolls for doing the same. Koimoi exclusively spoke to Swara about what made her take that decision.

Swara Bhasker said, “Rhea Chakraborty herself has on-record said that she has co-operated in every investigation. It is really unfair that the media trial or the witch-hunt that is happening to her. Media for their cheap TRPs or to fill their evening slots – they have decided that she is a murderess. First of all, it just seems to me that Rhea had not seen that boy (Sushant Singh Rajput) for 8 days. You still made her the prime suspect. The reason I spoke up is that I felt it could be me.”

Swara Bhasker continued, “She’s a young independent actress and there’s an unfortunate tragedy that has happened in her life. What if it was me? We cannot become a murderess lynch mob society. Just because we can’t bear the idea that a successful person could have bipolar disorder, could be depressed? We are so scared to introspect on our idea of success that we want to construct a murder that may be non-existed. I don’t think we did this to Kasab, who was a terrorist. You have done this to a girl who went through something so unfortunate in her life.”

Asked about why she thinks the Industry members are not coming forward, Swara said, “I feel people are not coming forward because nobody wants to be involved in a criminal case. I have also said the same thing that whatever is the investigation, it must be allowed to be carried on.”
