DCP Bandra Abhishek Trimukhe and Rhea Chakraborty exchanged calls on a number of occasions after the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, the call data records have shown. On June 20, five days after Rajput was found hanging at his Bandra residence, Rhea Chakraborty dialled Trimukhe for 20 seconds. On June 21, Trimukhe spoke to Chakraborty, the records show.
Sources told Times Now that DCP Trimukhe spoke to Chakraborty in connection with the case and had even called her to understand the alleged dispute between Rajput and her. It has also been learnt that Chakraborty visited the police station and was accompanied by her father.
According to sources, during the meeting with the police officials, Chakraborty said that she was not in a condition to reveal information and assured that she would provide information when she was out of the shock. Days later, Trimukhe messaged Rhea asking her to provide information. However, she did not respond.

Trimukhe was also probing the other accused in the case. According to Mumbai Police, Trimukhe was also in touch with other accused in the case. The revelation comes at a time when Mumbai Police are at the receiving end of criticism regarding the case.
On Wednesday, the case was transferred to the CBI. The central government accepted the Bihar government’s plea to transfer the case to CBI and a notification to that effect was issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT). The CBI filed an FIR against Chakraborty and her family members on Thursday.
