Vinaykumar Sajjanar, the founder of the Kannada literature platform called Kahale, passed away in the city. The 29-year-old succumbed to a heart attack.
Kahale had completed three years in March
Kahale is an organization that was established to promote readers and writers of Kannada literature. The larger aim of Kahala is to bring back people to the rich Kannada literature and also promote other Kannada cultures. The organization also holds shows of Kannada music, Kannada comedy, open mics of Kannada poetry, and Kannada stories. Kahale is an apt platform for those artists who have expertise in these fields.
Kahale also has two annual awards – Kahala Kavite Prashasthi for Kannada poetry and Kahala Katha Prashasthi for Kannada long-form writing. Kahale also runs two campaigns – Pustaka Preeti and Kavidani. Founded by Mr. Vinaykumar Sajjanar, in March 2020, the platform had completed 3 years of its establishment.
The pioneer of a noble cause
Kahale was established to undertake an important cause of promoting the rich literature of Kannada that is quite forgotten by the newer generation. Mr. Vinay was at the forefront of this cause and was actively involved in all the activities of the group.
His passing away will be a massive loss to Kannada literature and its patrons. We hope that Vinay’s friends and family will be blessed with the strength to bear this unfair loss.
