The cases of novel coronavirus cases continue the upward trend in the country and have shown no signs of reducing. The state of Maharashtra alone has crossed the official figures of China where the virus first originated.
The city of Mumbai too is seeing the surge in coronavirus cases. The financial capital of the country, Mumbai, has reported over 54,000 cases with over 1,900 deaths. The city has crossed the figures of the epicenter of the novel coronavirus, Wuhan. In a recent update coming from the city, the Brihat Mumbai Corporation has sealed a building called Tuscany where Bollywood celebrities like Malaika Arora and Sophie Choudhary resides.
The building was sealed after Amrita Arora’s father-in-law tested positive for the virus. Amrita Arora, Malaika’s sister, lives on the 6th floor of the building. When Amrita Arora was contacted by journalists, she said that her father in law recovered and is doing healthy.
Sophie Choudhary who lives in the same building had put up a post on Instagram where authorities were seen sanitizing the entire building. In the caption, she thanked Baba Siqqui for arranging the sanitizing team. Ever since the case was reported, Malaika Arora has put herself under quarantine along with her son Arhaan and dog Casper. The actress has not posted any updates on social media regarding the situation.
Bollywood Comes To The Rescue
Bollywood celebrities are slowly chipping in to help the poor and the needy during the coronavirus crisis in the country. After Sonu Sood’s initiative to send stranded migrants back home, now Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan has stepped in to help.
It is being reported that the actor has arranged 3 flights that will help 500 stranded people to go to their homes at Varanasi. This is Amitabh’s second effort as previously he had arranged road transport for the migrant workers.
A week ago the actor has arranged 10 buses that helped migrants to reach their home in Uttar Pradesh. Prior to that, the actor has supported the 1 lakh families of daily wage workers who belong to the All India Film Employees Confederation. He supported the families by looking after their monthly ration. Bollywood also raised 52 crores from the initiative I for India that saw many celebrities who took part actively. Karan Johar, Katrina Kaif, and Zoya Akhtar were some of the celebrities who were a part of it.
