Jhanvi Kapoor’s Gunjan Saxena Finally Got Wings, Set To Release On Netflix Soon

Exciting news for Netflix viewers just came round the corner. One of the leading Bollywood actor and the Kapoor princess, Janhvi Kapoor, is all set to amaze the viewers with the story of an air force pilot, Gunjan Saxena, which is all set to be premiered on Netflix soon. Directed by Sharan Sharma, the film has a lot to showcase the pride of India. The film casting starts with Janhvi Kapoor playing the protagonist, followed by Pankaj Tripathi, Angad Bedi, Viineet Kumar, Manav Vij, and Ayesha Raza.

In a recent video shared by Janhvi Kapoor, the journey of real-life Gunjan Saxena, also known as the Kargil Girl, has been expressed in an articulated manner and a glimpse of her character in the film has been portrayed. She also mentioned that soon the film will be available on Netflix.

Janhvi Kapoor shared a picture with Gunjan Saxena and wrote, “Happy Birthday, Gunjan mam! Thank you for teaching me the true meaning of bravery, the importance of working hard, and sincerely and for paving the way for millions of women in our country. You’re an inspiration and a hero, without ever having tried to be. Your story has helped me believe in myself, and hopefully will help others too.”

Flight lieutenant Gunjan Saxena is the first woman Indian Air Force (IAF) officer to enter a war zone. Taking inspiration from her father who served in the Indian Army, she decided to make the country proud by flying Indian Airforce fighter jets.

The biopic is based on how bravely Flight Lieutenant, Gunjan Saxena, along with Flight Lieutenant Srividya Rajan, flew Cheetah helicopter in the Kargil war zone for casualty evacuation and made a history that can never be forgotten.

Gunjan was later awarded the Shaurya Chakra by the Indian government for her courage and bravery.

Karan Johar, who has produced the film under Dharma Productions, said in a statement, “Gunjan Saxena is a defining film based on a true story about a woman who showed unparalleled courage, and inspiration to many in the coming years. Gunjan Saxena is one of the many films that was originally scheduled for a theatrical release but due to the extended lockdown conditions amid the coronavirus and closure of cinema halls, the movie is all ready to set fire on Netflix very soon.
