Popular author Paulo Coehlo paid tribute to actor Irrfan Khan with a quote from the Bhagavad Gita. In his Tweet, the’ Alchemist’ writer thanked Irrfan for all he has provided to the medium of cinema.
Irrfan Khan breathed his last a few days ago
A few days ago, popular actor Irrfan Khan passed away at a private hospital in Mumbai. The actor had been treated for a tumor in 2018, and only recently had he returned to movies. On Tuesday, the actor was admitted to the ICU of the Kokilaben Hospital over a colon infection.
Apart from his wonderful stint in Indian Cinema, Irrfan Khan had made a name for himself across the world with his performances in movies such as Slumdog Millionaire and Life of Pi.
Paulo Coelho remembers Irrfan Khan
Paulo Coelho took to Twitter, as he paid his respects to Irrfan Khan. In the Tweet, Paulo took a reference to the Bhagavad Gita and remembered Irrfan. Here is the popular author’s tweet:

Later, when a few fans of the author asked if he had read the Bhagavad Gita, Paulo Coelho replied that he had even written a song about the Hindu Epic. He later also shared a link to the song. However, the song is not English, although it does contain English subtitles. Paulo also pointed out that the translation was not ‘100%’.
Irrfan’s family releases a statement
Irrfan Khan’s family released a statement later on. It said: “Irrfan was buried at the Versova kabrastan in Mumbai at 3 pm this afternoon soon after the news of his passing away was announced. In presence were his family, close relatives and friends. Everyone paid their final respects and mourned the loss of his passing away. We pray for his peace and we hope he’s in a better place today. He was strong in his fight, and we all have to be strong too in this loss.”
