Microsoft co-founder and visionary, Bill Gates, has written to PM Narendra Modi, commending his leadership and effectiveness while helping India fight the outbreak of COVID-19.
Bill Gates writes to PM Modi
Here is what Bill Gates had to say about Modiji’s efforts:
Mr. Bill Gates appreciated the efforts of the Government in utilizing technology to its fullest during these tough times. He said:
“I’m glad your government is fully utilizing its exceptional digital capabilities in its COVID-19 response and has launched the Aarogya Setu digital app for coronavirus tracking, contact tracing, and to connect people to health services.“
A week ago, in his message to the citizens, Mr. Modi had requested the people to download the Aarogya Setu App in an effort to reduce the COVID-19 cases in the country. Since then, the application has become one of the most downloaded on the internet.
The Microsoft co-founder added:
“Grateful to see that you’re seeking to balance public health imperatives with the need to ensure adequate social protection for all Indians.“
Bill Gates appreciates Modi’s leadership
The 64-year-old appreciated PM Modi’s leadership during the crisis. He said:
“We commend your leadership and the proactive measures you and your government have taken to flatten the curve of the COVID-19 infection rate in India, such as adopting a national lockdown expanding focused testing to identify hot spots for isolation, quarantining, and care, and significantly increasing health expenditures to strengthen the health system response and promote R&D and digital innovation.”
The message from Mr. Gates should be a boost to PM Modi, who has been at the receiving end of some criticism in recent days.
