While medical experts continue to suggest that India is on the rise in regard to coronavirus as the numbers continue to increase, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao has claimed that the state will be free of the virus by the 7th of April.
The state of Telangana has reported 70 confirmed cases of the coronavirus with 68 are still active with one death. Among the 68 people who are being treated, the Chief Minister said that 11 of them are cured and tested negative and will be discharged on Monday.
There will be no more coronavirus cases from April 7th
K Chandrashekhar Rao addressed a press conference on Sunday and gave out the official figures of the COVID-19 situation in the state. According to the official data, 25,937 people who returned from foreign countries have been kept under the government’s observation. The quarantine period of these is supposed to end on April 7th. Post-April 7th there will be no new cases of coronavirus, the Chief Minister said. However, he said, the self-control is very important.
The Chief Minister also addressed the plight of the farmers. Talking about the yield of the farmers, K Chandrashekhar Rao assured that all the grains will be bought by the government. A sum of 3,200 crores is proposed as the guaranteed for the market. He also urged the farmers to bring their passbooks while coming with crops as the money will be transferred online. He also announced that close to 500 centers are being formulated across the state to buy fruits.
Talking about the hygiene situation in villages, he lauded the villagers’ decision to put fences at the borders but also stressed the importance to know who to allow and who do not. He also advised them to keep a soap along with water at the entrance for people coming from outside.
He also gave a call to the medical graduates who are willing to join the state against the virus. They are always welcome, he said. He also acknowledged the massive misinformation being spread on social media and warned of serious criminal action if anybody is found doing so.
