Kahale, an organization that aims to promote readers and writers of Kannada literature, has completed three years in working. The larger aim of Kahala is to bring back people to the rich Kannada literature and also promote other Kannada cultures. The organization also holds shows of Kannada music, Kannada comedy, open mics of Kannada poetry and Kannada stories. Kahale is an apt platform for those artists who have expertise in these fields.
Over the last three years, Kahale has successfully hosted over 75 programs, has a community of over 3500 writers, over 6.5 lakh views on their poetry videos and has conducted 35 and more open mics. Founded by Vinaykumar Sajjanar, Kahale also has two annual awards – Kahala Kavite Prashasthi for Kannada poetry and Kahala Katha Prashasthi for Kannada long-form writing. Kahale also runs two campaigns – Pustaka Preeti and Kavidani.
Kahale is undertaking an important cause of promoting the rich literature of Kannada that is quite forgotten by the newer generation. Today, the noble cause completes three years. We hope it has even more successful years in the future.
On their third anniversary, they have launched a revamped website at www.kahale.org
