Earlier this morning, Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said that the total number of patients affected by the coronavirus in India stood at 28.

The numbers were increased when 14 Italian tourists who have been on a visit to India were detained in Delhi. Out of them, one Indian driver, who had come in contact with the Italians have also been infected with the deadly virus.
“The government is taking all measures to spread awareness. There is no need to panic but people can avoid mass gatherings,” the minister said.
PM Modi and BJP chief JP Nadda earlier today said that he will not participate in the upcoming Holi Milan programs. The samples of the six people who were in contact with the Delhi patient have been tested negative for coronavirus.
According to him, one case has been reported in Delhi, six in Agra, one case in Telangana and three in Kerala. He also said that total of 27,000 people have been placed under community surveillance.
Strict rules for international passengers
The government has directed all international passengers to submit self-declaration forms on landing in India. They will have to provide contact details, travel history and possible contact with other people there.
Earlier, India had suspended all visas issued on or before Tuesday to travelers from Italy, Iran, South Korea, and Japan in the watch of the coronavirus scare.
Union Minister Harsh Vardhan also informed about his meeting with Delhi’s Health Minister to discuss the alarming situation. The Union Health Minister has pushed them to increase facilities of isolation wards in hospitals.
