Jhund Teaser: The 72-second teaser does its job perfectly with just one dialogue by Sr. Bachchan

The teaser of Amitabh Bachchan starrer Jhund was dropped yesterday on the official channel of T-Series. The film is being directed by Nagraj Manjule.

The 72-second teaser does its job perfectly with just one dialogue by Sr. Bachchan which is followed by a follow shot of a gang walking with bricks, bats and chains. Adding to the tease is the brilliant music by
Ajay-Atul.

There hasn’t been much information about the film yet. According to the Wikipedia page, the film is based on the real-life of Vijay Barse who is the founder of NGO Slum Soccer. Reportedly, Bachchan plays the role of a professor who inspires and motivates the children of the street to form a football team.

Jhund is directed by Nagraj Popatrao Manjule. Nagraj Manjule previously directed Fandry and Sairat which earned him critical acclaim and commercial success. Sairat, which released on the same day as Tiger Shroff’s Baaghi grossed more in Maharashtra alone than Baaghi’s pan India collection. Sairat was one of the most successful films of the year.

Since then, Manjule is regarded as one of the important voices in the Marathi Industry. Especially of the Dalit filmmaking community. Jhund marks the debut of Nagraj Manjule in the Hindi cinema.

The film also stars Rinku Rajguru and Akash Thosar who played lead roles in Sairat.

The music of the film is scored by the Marathi duo Ajay-Atul who are best known for their work in Agneepath, Sairat and Brothers.

Jhund is produced by Nagraj Popatrao Manjule, Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Raaj Hiremath, Savita Hiremath, Gargee Kulkarni and Meenu Arora under the banners Tandav films, T-Series and Aatpat Films.

Jhund was supposed to release in September 2019 which was later postponed to December 2019 but we have finally learned that it is hitting screens on May 8th, 2020. Here is the teaser.
