The controversial Kannada and Telugu actress Rashmika Mandanna today welcomed an unwanted guest at her place which very much looked like a surprise package. The 23-year-old was raided by the income tax department on the outskirts of Virajpet in Kodagu district.
A surprise raid
It is reported that the officials raided her house in Virajpet on Thursday at 7.30 am. 10 officials arrived in 3 cars and started hunting Rashmika’s bank account and other property details. Indeed it was a surprise raid that was conducted in connection with suspected tax evasion. However, the actress was not caught in this act as she was busy shooting in her upcoming film.
Income Tax Department sources say that search operations are also underway at Serenity Hall, owned by Rashmika’s father Madan Mandanna and also his office premises. More details about the raids are to be known.
A hint for tax evasion
IT department also revealed that Rashmika’s family was looking to start a new business by opening an International school and a petrol bunk at Bittangala Virajpet. The family had already planned to buy a 5-acre land where they could start the whole thing. These suspicious activities certainly raised many eyebrows as from where did the actress get such amount of money.
The Income Tax surprise raid appears just a day after Rashmika rejected making a lot of money in her films. Rashmika had made the statement after massive speculation that her income had crossed the seven-figure mark.
“I am not the highest-paid actor. I am just starting in the film industry. When people say I am the highest-paid actor in Sandalwood, I wonder where the news is coming from. I don’t have any money in the bank. I still feel like a debutant,” Rashmika had said.
