Parineeti Chopra will be seen playing ace badminton player Saina Nehwal’s character in her biopic. The athlete shared the picture on social media for conforming to her biopic. She wished all the best to Parineeti ahead of the start of the shoot of the biopic. Saina will become the first Indian shuttler to have a biopic on her life.
A Biopic on Saina Nehwal
Bollywood diva Parineeti Chopra is all set to add another stardom to her name by her next biopic movie on India ace badminton player Saina Nehwal. The film will be directed by Amol Gupte, who has previously directed films like Hawa Hawai, Stanlee Ka Dabba, Sniff and Taare Zameen Par.
The film will be titled as ‘Siana’, the team has planned to finish working on the film by the end of this year, so that the film could release in 2020. “The shooting will start soon. I am currently training for it very hard. I am playing badminton for two hours and getting trained and doing prep work for an hour. I recently wrapped up The Girl on The Train. These two films are very interesting films of my career and it is something I have not done before and I hope people like it,” Parineeti said.
Saina is one of the most well-known shuttlers in the country and has won several prizes, including a bronze at the 2012 London Olympics, where she became the first shuttler from the country to bag a medal.
The film franchise had earlier roped in Shraddha Kapoor for this film. The makers had even released Shraddha’s first look, showcasing her transformation into the badminton player in September 2018. However, the actress was diagnosed with dengue within a few days into the shoot making the film freeze for a year.
Saina shared a picture of Parineeti along with a good luck message for her and the entire team. She wrote, ‘Looking forward to this journey together! My best wishes to the team.
