Gujarat’s Statue of Unity and the Soho House in Mumbai have acquired a place in Time Magazine’s second annual list of this year’s “World’s Greatest Places.” Time Magazine has labeled both these tourist destinations as “noteworthy destinations to experience right now.”
Quality Places To Visit In India
The “Statue of Unity” in Gujarat is a tall statue of 182 meters in height. It is the statue of the first home minister and deputy prime minister of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and is also the tallest statue in the world. It has been built to represent the vision of Patel on patriotism, unity, growth and good governance. More than 2.6 million people have visited the place until now and the flow of tourists continues.
The statue is a tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, one of the prominent leaders who actively participated in the Indian freedom movement. Popularly known as the “Iron Man of India” Patel played a crucial role in the integration of several princely states into modern India.
The upscale Soho House in Mumbai is an 11-storied building. It comprises a library, a rooftop swimming pool overlooking the Arabian Sea and a movie theatre with 34 seats. While describing the unique place in Mumbai, Time says, “The unique feel comes in the shape of block-printed fabrics from Rajasthan; handwoven cane furniture; environmentally sustainable, sari-coated lampshades; and some 200 art pieces by mostly South Asian artists.”
It is the first Asian establishment of the hotel chain. There are more branches of the hotel chain located across Europe and the United States.

Other famous places that are also a part of the list include Red Sea Mountain Trail in Egypt, Zakouma National Park in Chat, The Shed in New York City, and Newseum in Washington.
