India’s legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar, who was a special guest for ICC Cricket world cup 2019 finals, feels super over should not be decided by the number of boundaries in case of a tie. The little master was disappointed with the way the winner was decided when the two finalist teams tied. It was England who got to taste the victory after an epic battle for the ultimate trophy.
Sachin feels, there should another super
It was not only Sachin but few other people also had expressed their disappointment with ICC’s rule that decides the final with an unfair means to the Kiwis. Many crickets experts went onto share their ideas as what needs to be done in such cases. Similarly, Sachin also had his opinion regarding a super over tie decider. He feels that, if a team goes with a tie in a super over, then a second super over should be played to decide the winner, instead of considering the boundary count.
“I feel there should be another super over to decide the winner, instead of considering the number of boundaries scored by both teams. Not just in a World Cup final. Every game is important. Like in football, when teams go into extra time, nothing else matters,” said Tendulkar. Source
There were other cricketers and different celebrities who felt ICC rules were bizarre over world cup final decider
Some rules in cricket definitely needs a serious look in.

What a game of cricket yesterday. Congrats to both teams for putting on a terrific show – full of skill, drama and courage. Feel for NZ as they were outstanding. Well done England. I just wish there was another super over or as many super overs as required to have a clear winner

Strange that a game that has 5 days matches did not have time to do another super over and decided the World Cup winner by counting boundaries. #ICCRules

From the playing conditions of the Vitality Blast, which starts tomorrow night. Note clause 16.6.12 at the bottom: if, after all the super over ball-by-ball reverse order countback, teams are still equal, then and only then do they play a second superover pic.twitter.com/caJ9SIALek

Don't understand how the game of such proportions, the #CWC19Final, is finally decided on who scored the most boundaries. A ridiculous rule @ICC. Should have been a tie. I want to congratulate both @BLACKCAPS & @englandcricket on playing out a nail biting Final. Both winners imo.

Instead of changing @msdhoni gloves , the stupid @ICC should have changed their super over rules !!!!

Its the most fuckin bullshit and a biased rule .. is the super over , which is one fuckin over , more important than the actual 50 over match … just asking @ICC @cricketworldcup

Honestly speaking @ICC has made cricket such a batsmen game and wickets really don’t matter. Its all about the batsmen scores & the wickets are treated like the lower caste. If there was equality between bowling and batting .. New Zealand would be a winner today @cricketworldcup

Last ball of super over, Neesham shouldn't have run the 2nd imo. He should have just waited next to Buttler for the throw to come in and twatted it away for four….

I understand the frustration/anger around the #SuperOver rules, deciding a #WorldCupfinal on a boundary count is contentious. The rule I'm confused about is – "The team batting second in the main match will bat first in the Super Over" How is this a level playing field? @ICC
