Fans Suggest Manjrekar To Quit Commentary As The Former Indian Cricketer Celebrates His 54th Birthday

The controversial commentator Sanjay Majrekar turned 54 Yesterday, and it’s a day he definitely didn’t want to come at any time soon. It is because he started facing the heat from the fans when they came to know about his birthday. Known for making his bizarre comments, most of his fans, not only criticized him but also asked him to give up on commentary for his needless criticism on players.

From taking a dig at Sourav Ganguly, for blocking Michael Vaughan on Twitter or for calling Ravindra Jadeja a bits and pieces player, Manjrekar had a bizarre World Cup moments this year. He received a lot of criticism from fans and was questioned for his credentials for showing bias while being on air.

In his cricketing career, Manjrekar represented India in 37 Tests and 74 One-Day Internationals. In Tests, he scored 2,043 runs with the help of 4 tons while in the 50-over format, he managed 1,994 runs including one ton.

Recently he was involved in a clash with the Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, as he called the 30-year-old a ‘bits and pieces’ player and said that he didn’t like him as an ODI player. After his statement, the Saurashtra cricketer had ripped Manjrekar apart on social media, calling his words “verbal diarrhea”.

Later, Jadeja silenced him with his performances on the field against New Zealand in the semis of the World Cup 2019. He picked up one wicket and scored 77 runs in only 59 balls as he took his team close.
