When the bits and pieces play for India

Ravindra Jadeja played his carrer best innings runs yesterday. When wickets were tumbling form the other end, Dhoni needed some one to support him and build the partnership to take India to the finish line. It was Jadeja who took the responsibility and played a fearless inning, building a partnership of over 100 runs. But unfortunately, the 30-year-old was dismissed by Trent Boult in the 48th over of the match in which the Men in Blue were chasing a 240-run target. Jadeja scored a promising 77 runs off 59 balls which was a cruicial contribution, but it went in vain.

Previously, Jadeja was involved in a controversy with Sanjay Manjrekar. He had strongly replied to Manjrekar after the former India cricketer-turned commentator referred him as “bits and pieces” cricketer.

After his principal performance, Sanjay Manjrekar praised the left hander said that he proved him wrong with his performance. He was quick to accept his mistake on the comment he made on Jadeja and said that the India all-rounder completely ripped him apart with his sheer brilliance on the field.

“Bits and pieces he just ripped me apart today. By bits and pieces of sheer brilliance just proved me wrong on all fronts. But this Ravindra Jadeja we have not seen very often. In the last 40 innings, his highest score was 33. But today he was brilliant. Economical with the ball, and that familiar celebration that you see after he gets to his fifties,” Manjrekar said in a video posted by the ICC.
